Stan Lenox entered the United States Army in January 1988 where he served for six years having attained the rank of Sergeant.
He completed his Basic and Advanced Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma and was awarded the MOS of 13 Bravo. From there he was assigned to Alpha Battery, 4th Battalion 7th Field Artillery Regiment in Giessen, Germany where he served as a Cannon Crewmember.
In December 1990 Stan deployed with the 42nd Field Artillery Brigade to Operation Desert Shield & Desert Storm in support of the VII Corps. Upon completion of this service he reenlisted for a second term and was assigned to Service Battery 1-82 Field Artillery (1st Cavalry Division) where he served as Ammo Section Chief. Subsequent assignments included Bravo Battery 1-82 Field Artillery where he was a Gunner and HQ’s 1-82 Field Artillery where he was the Battalion Retention NCO.
Stan’s military awards include; Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal (1 oak leaf Cluster), Army Achievement Medal (3 oak leaf clusters), Good Conduct Medal (2nd award), National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal (with 3 stars), Saudi Arabia Liberation of Kuwait Medal, and Kuwait Liberation of Kuwait Medal.
He received his BAAS and MPA from Stephen F. Austin State University.
Stan is a Past President of the AUSA Texas Capital Area Chapter as well as Past 4th Region President (Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana) of AUSA.
