Greg served during Operations Desert Shield and Storm as the Aide de Camp to BG Robert McFarlin, CDR, 2nd COSCOM. He completed a 20-year military career, which included prior enlisted service in the Air Force, as a Medical Service Corps Officer in 2005.
He served in Command and Operations positions with the 30th Medical Bde, Germany, 4th ID, Ft Carson, CO, 1st ID, Ft Riley, KS, and 2nd ID, Camp Casey, South Korea. Also served as a faculty member at the US Army Command and General Staff College (CGSC), Combined Services Staff School (CAS3) and, AMEDD Center School, Officer Basic Course (OBC/BOLC).
Greg is currently serving as a Department of Army and Navy Civilian since 2007 with service at (MCTP), Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, US European Command (USEUCOM) Stuttgart, Germany, United States Army Europe-Africa (USAREUR-AF) in Wiesbaden, Germany and, currently serving at Naval District of Washington, Washington, DC.
Greg and Ani Cheek reside in Arlington, Va. Greg is the author of The Three Points of Contact.
